There is quite a bit of street parking in the area. There is a nice area to sit in the lobby. There is also seating outside which is like a mini park with trees.

Waldorf Astoria

301 Park Avenue
New York, NY
212-355-3000
* Note: The Waldorf is closed for renovation until December 2020.
The Waldorf Astoria is a very elegant hotel. Arguably, NYC's most prestigious hotel, it has housed many dignitaries including presidents and royalty. The main entrance lobby is a large room with many places to sit in the main section and in the balcony areas around it. Sometimes, there is a bar open near the sitting area that sells drinks. Otherwise, you can walk further into the hotel in order to get drinks.

Marriott Marquis

1535 Broadway
New York, NY 10036
1-800-741-5072
The Marriott Marquis is known as a dating spot because of its revolving lounge, The View. You get to The View from a special elevator on the third floor. The View, located on the top floor of the hotel, is a regular lounge (the drinks are expensive) but it's cool because it revolves very slowly so the scenery keeps changing. The hotel is only about 45 stories high so don't expect the most amazing view. Another important thing to know about the Marriott is that there is a really nice lounge on the eight floor with a lot of seating. The eighth floor's ceiling is about 38 stories high and there is a "pillar" in the center of the room which the many elevators climb.
